What is "MAD" bit?
The "MAD" bit replaces Augers, Spade bits, and brad bits to form holes in thick timbers and laminates such as joists, naggings, floorboards, decking, kitchen worktops, cupboards and shelves.
Typically used when installing plumbing, heating, air-con systems, shower heads and taps, or electrical installations like satellite TV, security alarms, mains electric conduits, junctions boxes, lights etc.
The MAD-bit is neater and faster than chisels to form mortises and channels in wood and laminates such as doorposts, doors, cabinets, chairs and tables, skirting panels and stud walls and partitions. Typically used when installing locks, hinges, rebates and mortises joinery joints.
Unlike any other conventional drill bit, MAD-bit can also form any the above holes or channels in a curve or as well as straight. This gives the DIY and professional the unique capability to fix misalignment errors, which frequently occur in house building and renovating jobs. For example, where a heating system radiator inlet in misaligned from under floor pipe, the installer would typically chisel out the required correction which is time consuming and looks ugly. The MAD-bit solves the problem in seconds and leaves a professional finish for the pipe curve to fit in.
Uniquely the MAD-bit can form a flat bottom hole which, in one single action, facilitates the fit of 1``(25mm) recessed hinges as installed in kitchen cupboard doors, and many RV caravan furniture fixture (this task previously required the use of a specialized recess tool ).All other conventional drill bits form a pointed hole which will break the rear surface of the thin laminates.
Despite the rather spectacular form of the MAD-bit cutting head, the new technology tool is remarkably easy and accurate to use. Thanks to its ingenious geometry MAD-bit operate smoothly in all directions, resists jumping out channels, and obeys all your directional commands.
Because MAD-bit cuts with such efficiency, the amount of torque required from your power tool is actually less than when boring comparable diameters with old fashioned Spade Bits or Augers. This means an improved service life for your power tools, and also means that relatively low powered cordless types drills can perform tasks that would previously have required mains powered or more expensive battery types.
MAD-bit is precision manufactured to the highest standards from single billets of high grade tool steel. Titanium Nitride treated at 300degrees centigrade and fully guaranteed.
Suitable for use with all mains or cordless power drills with a 10mm chuck or larger.
